Refusing Further Negotiations With FG Is Devilish – NANS Tells ASUU

By Abdulkadir Rafiat The National Association of Nigerian Students on Saturday urged the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities to go back to negotiations with the Federal Government. NANS was reacting to a statement reportedly issued by the ASUU where it threatened not to honour any further invitation for a meeting with the Federal Government. “There is a need for ASUU to continue its negotiations with the Federal Government to find a common ground to resolve issues that led to the union’s ongoing strike,’’ NANS National Public Relations Officer, Mr Bestman Okereafor, said. Unilorin student commits suicide

By Abdulkadir Rafiat A 27 year old student of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) simply identified as Adigun Olawale Emmanuel has reportedly committed suicide. The late Olawale was said to have failed in his final year project last session and was made to repeat the current one before his death. The deceased, from the Faculty of Agriculture, was believed to have died after he drank a pesticide, Sniper, Eyewitness  reports. It was gathered that he had a grade of Second Class Upper Division but that with the failed project he would necessarily have to drop to Second Class Lower Division. In a social media note left behind, the deceased indicated that he had been accused of ‘copy and paste’, in research his works. Some neighbours claimed the deceased had been subject to depression since he failed to make the last graduation list of the institution. Banker Battling Depression Reportedly Commits Suicide

By Abdulkadir Rafiat A Nigerian banker has killed himself after promising to write about surviving depression. Tolulope Abodunrin aka Don Tee took his own life according to his friend, Ogbeni Dipo. The incident has left family members and friends utterly devastated. It was gathered that the 2006 Accounting graduate of the University of Ilorin, who once revealed that he used to google about the fastest ways to commit suicide, took his own life on Wednesday, November, 21, 2018. Writing on Twitter, Dr. Dipo with the handle @OgbeniDipo shared the sad news: “I’ve just been informed of the death of Tolulope. He was reported to have taken his own life this week. May God forgive him of his sins and may he rest in perfect peace.”

ASUU Rejects FG Negotiation Team, Says Strike Continues

Uniosun Convocation Ceremony Disrupted As NASU Protests Owing Of Salaries

According to a source that spoke with us, the action was pushed by the Non Academic staff Union (NASU), of the institution in protest to the management for owing them salaries and allowances of many months. Teenage Nollywood Actress Is Missing

17-year-old actress, Tito Segun-Banjo , has been declared missing by her family. In an interview, Tito’s mum, Wemimo Segun-Banjo, said her daughter who featured in Omoni Oboli’s Wives on Strike, the Revolution, left their home in Ipaja, Lagos state on Saturday November 17th to run some errands for her dad and has since not returned home. Efforts to reach her has failed as her phone is currently switched off. ”She left the house on Saturday to run errands for her dad and has since not returned home. I have tried reaching her but her number is not responding. I am afraid. Tito is a very bright girl who knows my number by heart and would have reached out to me using someone’s number if everything is okay.       Inspiration FM’s popular OAP, Tosyn Bucknor has been reported dead at the age of 37.       The actual cause of death is yet to be confirmed but according to reports, she was reportedly found dead by husband, Aurelien Boyer, when he arrived home from work on Monday night.        Tosyn, a notable voice on the Nigerian airwaves worked with Top Radio before joining Inspiration FM. Delsu student found dead with breast and tongue missing

Delsu student missing  found dead, with some body parts missing. Elozino Ogege who’s a 300 level student of Delsu was declared missing on Thursday. According to the report, her remains were found at about 2am, on Monday, by residents, along Ekrejeta road in Abraka. The deceased is said to be a first class student. The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, who confirmed the incident said the family of the girl is devastated.

Okebukola delivers KWASU First Education Lecture Series

       A former executive secretary of the National Universities Commission, Professor Peter Okebukola, says over 60 percent of project reports of Nigerian undergraduates are plagiarised.       Speaking yesterday at the first Kwara State University Education Lecture, Okebukola said the rate of plagiarism as a form of academic corruption at the Masters level was between 15 and 20 percent and eight percent at the Ph.D. level.      “It’s academic corruption when lecturers don’t show up in classes as required or teach only 10 subjects out of about 20 in a semester, and when students negotiate with lecturers for marks”, he said. 41 Lead City Students Graduate With First Class Honours

     Forty-one students of Lead City University, Ibadan, bagged first class honours at the university’s convocation held on Thursday.      Tribune staff, Mrs Oyin Olatunji, Mr Wole Efunnuga and Mr Wale Ojo-Lanre were among the total of 838 graduates, which comprised 768 undergraduates and 70 postgraduate students. Bamigboye, first military governor of Kwara, dies at 78

      The first military governor of Kwara, retired Brig.-Gen. David Bamigboye, confirmed  dead.The younger brother to the deceased, retired Col. Theophilus Bamigboye,confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria  on Friday on the telephone.           He said the late military governor died on Friday during a brief illness in Lagos. Th e deceased was born on December 7, 1940, and was the first military governor of Kwara between May 1967  and  July 1975.           He was credited with establishing  the Kwara State Polytechnic in 1972.
